Dave R Wood

For the investigation of fires, the enforcement of fire bylaws, and training related to fire investigation and reporting.

Dave has completed the three levels of the Canadian Fire Investigation School, Advanced Fire Investigation Courses from the IAAI and NAFI as well as attending many seminars and workshops pertaining to fire investigation.

Mr. Wood has qualified as an expert witness and given testimony on fire investigation in The Provincial Court of British Columbia. Dave has conducted more than 400 fire investigations including commercial, industrial, and residential structures, commercial passenger and recreational vehicles, and marine vessels. He has considerable experience in the investigation of structure fires containing marijuana grow operations.

Areas of research have involved test burns on various types of materials, furniture and vehicles to examine fire behavior and travel.

In 1996 Mr. Wood completed the company officer promotional program. During his 25 years as a firefighter and company officer, he has been involved in the suppression of more than 700 fires.

Dave stays current with changes in the industry by attending courses and seminars, and with memberships in the IAAI, NAFI, and IAFF.
